Hi guys! Our group consists of Heewoo Lee (Hayley), Jan Chen, Zoe, Joyce and Nico (Left to right)!  This is our group video about discussing "12 facts that people don't know about Frozen" as well as the movies we uploaded in our blog! As our group member, Zoe admits that she has not watched most of the movies we have posted, our group has also decided to comment on the movies in the blog forums - yeah we guess she's not a movie person! Each of us have contributed to finding the widely unknowable information about Frozen and sharing each other's opinions on the movies we have reviewed. Prior to video-shooting, our group has organised several meetings to discuss our topics and outline the video. Special thanks to Jan who partakes in editing the video and uploading it on Youtube. This is our group's hard work and hope you guys enjoy the video. :)

The Secret Life of Pets is a 2016 American 3D computer-animated adventure comedy film produced by Illumination Entertainment.

It premiered at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival on June 16, 2016 and was released to theatres in the United States on July 8, 2016 by Universal Pictures., it received positive critical reviews and grossed $858 million worldwide, becoming the highest       grossing original animated film not produced by Disney or Pixar.

A Jack Russell Terrier named Max lives with his owner Katie in a Manhattan apartment. While she is at work during the day, he hangs out with other pets in the building: tabby cat Chloe, pug Mel, dachshund Buddy, and budgerigar Sweetpea.

One day, Katie adopts Duke, a large and shaggy dog from the pound, leaving Max jealous because of her larger focus on Duke. Enraged by Max's attitude towards him, duke is also mean to Max. They are hard to live together peacefully.

When the pair of doggies who are not like each other from the beginning live on the sinister streets of New York City, they had to put aside their prejudices against each other and work together against a plush but cunning little rabbit snowball (Kevin Hart dubbing), defeated the little white rabbit recruited pet army "pet revolution coffee", and then rush to dinner before dinner back to the owner side.

SHUTTER ISLAND

SHUTTER ISLAND (2010)

Shutter Island (2010) by far,  is one of the best old school thriller movies I have seen in a very long time. The film definitely keeps your attention the entire time and leaves you mind blown at the end as you're still trying to process the crazy plot twist that you never expected. 

Not only does the film has a great storyline but it also has the hottest actor in it... Leonardo DiCaprio! who by the way is an amazing actor who only got an Oscar recently which makes no sense to me as to why his Oscar award was so delayed, like come on Hollywood get your stuff together! Anyway back to Shutter Island.  This film directed by Martin Scorsese is set in 1954 and follows the journey of a U.S. Marshal; Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) who is assigned to an investigation over a missing person from the Ashecliffe Hospital (mental asylum). As Teddy Daniels continues his search, he becomes suspicious of the doctors. Slowly Teddy starts to doubt his own sanity as the storyline progresses which leads to the massive plot twist that makes you sit on the edge of your seat and stare at the screen with your mouth wide open saying... "WHHHATTT?!" I know this because that it is word for word how I reacted when the plot twist happened. Even now when I'm typing this I still thinking about how great that plot twist was. So great that I'm sitting here typing a review for you, in hopes that  you'll watch this amazing film. I know I will definitely be watching it again and again, so please join me and watch the film and tell me how you like it and parts you don't like, I'm interested to hear what you think... about one of my favourite thrillers.

Incredible FAMBAM

The Incredibles

The Incredibles (directed by Brad Bird) is a family movie about a family with superpowers. It is one of my favourite movies of all time. I remember growing up and watching this movie. It was a movie that i could watch all day and won't get sick of it. I think even to this day, i will never get sick of this movie. As a kid, this movie fascinated me so much that i saw it as a perfect movie. I had a lot of memories watching this movie and watching the movie brings me back to my childhood. Oh, how i miss those days.

The movie starts with two most famous/iconic superheroes,  Mr Incredible/Bob Parr (Craig Nelson) and Elasti Girl/Helen Parr (Holly Hunter), fall in love, get married and have a family together. They have 3 children, Violet Parr (Sarah Vowell),  Dashieel 'Darh' Parr (Spencer Fox), and Jack-Jack Parr (Eli Fucile and Maeve Andrews). The family tries to hide their powers and live a normal life. They are then forced to use their powers along side another superhero, who is also a family friend, Frozone/Lucius Best (Samuel L. Jackson) to stop the villain Syndrome/Buddy Pine (Jason Lee).

The movie is very family friendly, entertaining, funny and a lot of actions to enjoy. It is a classic movie that everyone would enjoy, from little kids to adults, even grandparents. I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone, and i mean anyone.  It is such a masterpiece. Is there really anything much to say about this movie? IT IS INCREDIBLE!!

First Day High

First Day High

First Day High is a comedy movie that was released in 2006, in the Philippines. It is a movie adaptation on a TV advertisement by Rexona. The movie has been highly compared to the movie, High School Musical, because they have similar setting (a school) and a number of singing and dancing involved. The movie does not have much to offer other than entertainment and a number of songs that may not be everyone's type.

The movie is located at an university called FDHU, First Day High University. The movie revolves around five characters, each with different personality and/or status. These five are: smart girl  Indira "Indi" Dela Concepcion (Kim Chiu), sossy Precious Princess Jewel "Pré" Samartino (Maja Salvador), rebel Gael Zantua (Geoff Eigenmann), nice guy Nathan "Nat-Nat" Matriponio (Jason Abalos), and basketball star  Michael Jordan "MJ2" Ramirez (Gerald Anderson). These five had little connections to each other until they all became prime suspects in an accident, the basketball water contamination accident. The movie shows all five's adventure starting from their first day in the university,all the way to the water contamination accident. 


As stated before, the movie does not offer much. It is very comparable to High School Musical with some critics (audience) claiming that the movie is a copy of HSM.  At the very least, the movie has its own original story line which gives a little bit of a thriller. I watched this movie when i was a kid and i liked it. Sure it nowhere the best movie but it was entertaining. As a  kid, you don't really pay attention to what is bad in the movie, but rather what is good. The songs were somewhat catchy. Though in today's standards, the movie is forgettable. Overall, i would only recommend it to those who have a lot of free time and want to watch a cheesy, cliche movie that do not mind singing and dancing involved.

CHUNGKING EXPRESS (1994)

Cop 223 and Qiwu 

Chungking Express (1994) directed by Kar-Wai Wong is a film that consists of two stories about two lovestruck policemen in the heart of Hong Kong. The first half of the movie focuses on Cop 223, who has broken up with his girlfriend of 5 years. His girlfriend had broken up with him on the 1st of April (April fools day) and his birthday is on the 1st of May, so he decides to give it a month before letting go. This is seen through the obsession he develops with buying every pineapple tin that expires on the 1st of May, as he believes that it will end in two ways; either their love will be reconnected or it would be expired forever. At the same time a woman is struggling in the drug world as she gets cheated by people she had trusted to help her smuggle drugs. The two cross paths in a bar and spend a night of sadness and tiredness together. 

The second story is about Cop 663, who is also dealing with a similar break up with a flight attendant. Whilst on duty he meets the new sandwich bar girl called Faye, who secretly falls in love with him and obtains the keys to his apartment. While he is out, she changes and redecorates his apartment to improve his lifestyle. Cop 663 unaware of these changes because of his breakup, gradually becomes happier as these subtle changes happen. Eventually the two arrange a date, but Cop 663 gets stood up. However Faye returns as a flight attendant and finds that Cop 663 has taken over the shop she used to work at and is now turning it into a business.

Chungking Express (1994) was by far one of the strangest movies that I have watched and I must admit, my favourite story was the second one about Cop 663. It is hilarious and sad all at the same time and the mis en scene's throughout the story and also in the first story captures Hong Kong perfectly, with the small spaces and the busy streets and lifestyle that many people in Hong Kong live. It is a very different and creative film directed by Kar-Wai Wong. If you are looking for an interesting, funny, strange and open ended international film, then Chungking Express  is the film for you.

Suicide Squad is an American superhero film, which released at Aug. 3, 2016 and directed by David Ayer. It based on the DC Comics antihero team’s third installment in the DC Extended Universe. These film starring an ensemble cast featuring Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ike Barinholtz, Scott Eastwood and Cara Delevingne.

In the aftermath of Superman's death, intelligence officer Amanda Waller assembles Task Force X, a team of dangerous criminals imprisoned at Belle Reve Prison consisting of elite hitman Deadshot, former psychiatrist Harley Quinn, pyrokinetic ex-gangster El Diablo, opportunistic thief Captain Boomerang, genetic mutation Killer Croc, and specialized assassin Slipknot. They are placed under command of Colonel Rick Flag to be used as disposable assets in high-risk missions for the United States government. Each member has a nano bomb implanted in their neck, designed to detonate should any member rebel or try to escape.

In the suicide squad, it takes two hours to construct a clearly and attractive story and description of each villain's life experience and personality. For save their life they had to work together, but everyone has their own ultimate goal. However, in help each other by give a hand when someone in danger they gradually develop to gang friendship under mutual support.

"Suicide Squad: Suicide Squad" is quite consistent with people's expectations of the villain movie. Those villains’ personality will not be change by saving the word. However, they also will not be indifferent because of their past behaviors. The most basic love and morality is all positive and negative characters are insisting on the concept, but also throughout the film's true spindles!
