Batman V Superman:
Dawn of Justice
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice (BvS for short) is one of the highest anticipated movies of all times, by fans and critics alike. Announced in 2013 and released in 2016 after a year of delayed released, BvS is my pick of movie of the year. Yes the movie received a lot of criticism, but despite all of that it is still my favourite movie of the year, and one of my favourite movie of the year. I am a huge Superman and DC fan, thus my views and perceptions of the movie will be very biased.
Zack Snyder, the director of BvS, used the letter V instead of the tradional Vs between Superman and Batman to indicate that the movie isn't about all about a battle between the two superheroes, but much something more. Essentially however, the story revolves around Batman (Ben Afflect) who prepares to fight the Man of Steel, Superman (Henry Cavill). The two eventually find out the truth between their misunderstandings and must unite to stop a common enemy, Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg), who created a deformed alien called Doomsday. The two superheroes, along side with Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) form a temporary alliance to take down the alien.
The movie is more than meets the eye. In face value, the movie isn't anything special, but there are a lot of hidden meaning and messages in the movie. Knowing this message would create a better understanding of the movie and improves on the initial reaction of the movie. For example, the V in the title represents something more. Think of the Roman Numerals, V stands for 5. If you've seen the movie, then you can guess what i'm talking about but if you haven't seen the movie, you need to watch the movie (or know the ending) to find out.
Overall the movie is very good if you keep an open mind. Don't try to question the logic of the movie, or any movie really. I waited for the movie for 3 years along with my friend and it was sort of worth it. It could have been a better movie but it's the first time the two superheroes appear in one live action film in the giant screen.
