It's Over!

You Got Served

My favourite movie of all time would be You Got Served, directed by Chris Strokes. The movie itself is not that great but none the less, it still ranks number one for me, because on how it inspired to start dancing. Since it's release in 2004, the movie has not aged very well, clearly showing how 'terrible' the movie is against today's standards.

You Got Served, is about two friends, David (Omarion) and Elgin (Marques Houston), that leads a dance crew into a dance competition that grants a grand price of $50 000, and the opportunity to perform in a Lil' Kim (Lil' Kim) video. Along the way, many twists and turns rise, causing the friendship of the two to waver. Given the wavering friendship of the two, David is also seeing Elgin's sister, Liyah (Jennifer Freeman). There are other bits and pieces involved but it will spoil much of the story.

The movie itself lacks in the story department but makes up for it in the dancing scenes. Honestly, this movie is a forgettable movie, with many other dancing movies that are better than this. The transition between scenes is not well done, could be a lot better. If i would rate the movie honestly and unbiased, it would rate it only 3/10, but since this is my favourite movie of all time, i will personally rate it 10/10. Recommending the movie is hard, but i do recommend to anyone who has a passion in dance (hip hop), or just want to see the movie that i like to describe as the pioneer of hip hop movies. Note: i didn't say dance movies because i think the credit belongs to Honey, which was released in 2003.

If you do end up watching it, please do try to enjoy it and don't be too critical to the movie. If you don't end up watching, you're not really missing anything.
